Stop wasting your time in government vote-buying unsustainable jobs, & start learning a skill- ILAPI Boss

August 18, 2022

The Executive Director of the Institute for Liberty and Policy (ILAPI), a policy think tank, has responded to the Youth Employment Agency’s (YEA) announcement that the service engagement for Community Protection Assistants and School Support Module would end on August 31.

He maintained that these job modules are a waste of time and are not long-term solutions.

As a result, he advises young people to learn a skill rather than wasting their time in government-created unsustainable jobs.

He believes that the government has squandered the time of these beneficiaries by making them beggars in their own country.

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has informed Community Protection Assistants and School Support Module beneficiaries that their contract has expired.

The Agency issued a notice announcing that the service of engagement would end on August 31, 2022.

Beneficiaries will no longer receive monthly payments after August 31, 2022, according to the statement.

Management stated that it is currently evaluating all programmes and will publicise new programmes that will be implemented in the coming months.

However, Mr. Peter Bismark Kwofie has described the years spent by these beneficiaries as wasted.

He claimed that when I advise people not to participate in the government’s vote-buying schemes, I am met with insults and threats. NABCO is a classic example.

When I advice people not to join the government’s vote buying employment schemes, that it’s a waste of time I receive insults and threats. NABCO is a classical example.

By 31st of August, thousands of youth will be axed out from the vote buying community policing. 4 solid years of your precious time gone wasted. If you could have learned a skill or trade within that number of years you might be sure of starting your own employment or working in partnership by now.

Most entered between the ages of 25 – 35 years. Government has wasted your time for nothing and has made you a beggar in your own country and among your colleagues. What skill did you learn from the 4 years of community policing?

Anyway good luck guys…
