A personal driver of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was among my attackers- Odike

Businessman and politician Akwasi Addai ‘Odike’ has claimed that one of those who attacked him on Monday is the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s personal driver.

The Founder and Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), who is currently hiding out, claims to have seen several of those who attacked him.
He also claimed that these people are connected to the Manhyia Palace.

He told Kwabena Agyapong of Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the Asantehene might not be aware of the attack.

As a result, he urged the traditional ruler to distance himself and the Manhyia Palace from the attack if he was unaware of it.

To those who wish to attack him for speaking the truth, he said “I will not abandon my campaign against illegal mining. I’ll keep talking. I will continue to speak out against the chiefs who are involved in illegal mining. They are destroying our water bodies for selfish reasons “.

Despite the fact that the Ashanti Region Police have launched an investigation into the gun attack, they are dragging their feet, he said.

The motive for the attack is unknown; however, Mr Adae recently incurred the wrath of Manhyia Palace in Kumasi for his comments on the role of chiefs in illegal mining.

Odike stated on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline that an informant at Manhyia alerted him to the impending attack.
He claimed to have seen the driver of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II among his attackers.

He also stated that despite threats to his life, the police have failed to provide him with security.
