Despite Covid-19 & the Russian-Ukraine conflict, we are committed to building a new economy- Veep

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has announced that the government is focused on building a new economy.

The second gentleman of the land said the government is committed to building the new economy in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukraine conflict.

He noted that we may not be where we want to be and may be affected by the waves of the pandemic and war, but we will not give up.

”Notwithstanding the challenges, we must allow our mindset to build our courage so we can be among the best in the world at anything. We are building a new economy, notwithstanding the challenges we are seeing today. We are focused on building this new economy because these challenges will by the grace of God, be overcome, and we will benefit from what we are doing now,” he added.

He said notwithstanding the current economic challenges we are facing, our government has made significant and transformational strides in many areas over the years. We will navigate through this storm and continue to do more for our people.

He made the remarks when he graced the Centenary Anniversary Celebration of the Salvation Army Ghana Church in Accra.

Commending the church he said ”Since its humble beginning at Agona Duakwa in 1922, the Salvation Army Ghana has grown to become one of the most impactful churches in the country, with about 127 branches around country.

The Salvation Army has also made significant contributions towards the development of our country, especially in the education and health sectors, having built a number of schools and health facilities.

On the occasion of its 100th Anniversary, I congratulate the Salvation Army Ghana for the positive impact they have made on our country.”
