The Kumasi Traditional Council grants Oyerepa FM permission to resume operations

August 29, 2022

The Kumasi Traditional Council has granted the management of Oyerepa FM permission to resume operations.

The station was shut down four days ago after the Council ordered them to halt operations and appear before it properly to address comments made by Mr. Odike that the Council deemed derogatory.

The station was closed at the Council’s request as an expression of regret for allowing Akwasi Addai ‘Odike’ to use their platform to verbally attack traditional authority.

Rainbowradioonline.com gathered that the management went to see the Asokore Mamponghene, Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, and asked him to lead them before the Council to apologize after the first attempt failed.

A representative of the Asokore Mampong chief led the delegation to plead on their behalf, flanked by some leaders of the Methodist Church of Ghana.

Prof. Emmanuel Asante, the former head of the Peace Council, was also part of the delegation.

“We came in humility to plead with Asanteman to pardon them. And thanks be to God, they have accepted our request so they have asked them to go back and work,” Prof Asante told journalists after the meeting.
