Kwabena Abrefah, 22, is said to have committed suicide at Nsakaw in the Tain District of the Ashanti Region.
He was discovered hanging after going missing for nearly a week.
It has been revealed that the young man attempted but failed to kill his mother.
He is said to have followed her mother to the farm with a cutlass and asked her mother to say her last prayers before he killed her.
Fortunately, his brother, who was also on the farm, saw him and stopped him by hitting his hand with a stick.
After his encounter with the mother failed, the young man allegedly collected several used batteries and attempted suicide by consuming their contents.
He then covered his face in super glue before being rescued by his family.
He later left home and was never seen again until his body was found hanging in a bush.
The body was recovered and buried after the family notified the police.
It has also been revealed that the deceased suffered from mental illness.
