In response to repeated calls for President Akufo-Addo to reshuffle his cabinet, he has named his five best-performing ministers.
He felt there was no need to reshuffle these ministers because they had exceeded his expectations.
In an interview with Otec FM in Kumasi, he stated that some of the ministers he retained for his second term impressed him with their excellent performance and diligence in their respective sectors.
He also referred to his critics’ claims that he has refused to reshuffle his appointees due to favouritism as false.
President Akufo-Addo named five ministers in whom he had faith: Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen, Roads and Highways Minister Kwasi Amoako Atta, Employment and Labour Relations Minister Ignatius Baffuor Awuah, and Food and Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
“Reshuffle, reshuffle, what is it? Is it that they (Ministers) are not performing or the output is not good enough, what is it that… Or is it that some people are looking to replace them or what, I don’t understand,” President Akufo-Addo said.
“We are together as a team, those who can pull up their laces and contribute to the effort of the team, those people I have confidence in them,” he stressed.
