Prince Kwame Tamakloe wins the third award in six months as he bags GJA Best Health Journalist of the Year

The Northern Regional Correspondent for Rainbow Radio International, who also serves as the online editor for Kesmifm.com, has been named Best Health Reporter of the Year by the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Northern Regional chapter, his third in six months.

He received the Merck Foundation Media Recognition Award in the online category, as well as the Most Influential Climate Change Journalist of the Year 2021.

In the Northern Region and elsewhere, His series of reports on COVID-19 effects and prevention, COVID-19 vaccine misconceptions, and stigmatization of COVID-19 patients, among others, earned him the prestigious award of Best Health Journalist of the Year at the Ghana Journalists Association GJA Awards, which were held yesterday in Tamale.

“As a little boy from Anglo land, adopted the north as my home and Sagnarigu-kukuo as my city, it has been a dream to attend a GJA awards ceremony some day, a few years later, I didn’t just attend the awards ceremony but winning an enviable award,” he said in his victory speech.

Glory and honor to our forefathers’ God and gods for allowing me to win the GJA Best Health Reporter Northern Region award.

I dedicate this award to my mother, Margret Tamakloe, and my professional mother, Zubaida Ismail; thank you for all you have done and will continue to do in my life.”

He also credited his success to the Ghana Health Service, Northern Regional Directorate, and the COVID-19 Taskforce, as well as Journalist for Human Rights (JHR), Rainbow Radio International, Zami Reports, and Kesmi107.1FM.

Meanwhile, the young Journalist has pledged to make a positive difference in the lives of people in the North.
