Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia praised the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, OLAM, for being Tema’s first Catholic church.

The OLAM Catholic Church has served as a beacon of hope and salvation in the industrial city of Tema.

In Issah 41, Vice President Bawumia noted that as believers, the people must recognize that as God’s children, “there will always be moments of hopelessness, despair, doubt, fear, and uncertainty.”

He urged Ghanaians to trust God because He is the hope and strength of all, especially during difficult times.

He promised to support the project because it will help to address the unemployment problem in Tema and the country as a whole.

To shed more light on the Anniversary project, Richard Akpokavi, Chairman of the Parish Pastoral Council, explained that Tema, as a port city and the first community where Catholicism began, deserved to be rewarded in ways that gave back to the community.

“Skilled labour is one of the key requirements in a port city like Tema, and it is what the Parish wishes to give back to the youth through the Center,” he said.

Prayers were said for the country’s leadership and the nation as a whole.
