43-year-old man wins overall best farmer

A 43-year-old farmer, Nana Yaw Sarpong Serebour, has been adjudged the 2022 national best farmer.

The ceremony was held in Koforidua, the Eastern regional capital.

He took home a cash prize of GHS1,000,000 and two nights’ full board complimentary stay for two at the Peduase Valley Resort.

The winner hails from Asante Juaben and has 22 years of farming experience.

Nana Yaw is married with four children and owns over 900 acres of oil palm plantation, 65 acres of cocoa plantation, 36 acres of cowpea plantation, 37 acres of cassava plantation, and numerous cattle, sheep, and goats.

The first runner-up went to Adjei Fosu Seth from Kintampo North.

For his prize, he received a tractor, trailer, ploughs, and sprayer.

The second runner-up also went to Professor Akwasi Asabre Ameyaw from Techiman North in the Bono East region.

He received a tractor and other packages.

Yaa Adjeley of Wassa was named the best female farmer in the country. She won GHS100,000 in cash and a study tour of Ghana.
