Author, entrepreneur, and life coach Kwabena Obeng Darko has underscored the need for Africans to have a level of precision of thoughts mentally before we can produce their expected results.
According to him, for far too long, we have allowed the Western media to portray Africans as inferior.
He posited that the education we receive also is programmed in a way for us to look down on ourselves.
Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he indicated that it would be prudent for Africans to cherish what we have and value them since that is the only way for us to transform our economy.
He lamented how we constantly allow the Western media to portray us as poor people and worthless.
”The Western media is constantly telling us we are poor, we are nothing. We don’t cherish our certificates as Africans and cherish that of foreigners even when the value is below what we have here.”
People, he claims, will not pay attention to you if you are dressed in African print, but will pay full attention to those dressed in suits.
“In our schools, we don’t value our language, and speaking the local language is considered illiterate. In our churches, the image of Jesus is white, and the devil is black. The examples from morning to evening are against us, and this has a negative impact on our confidence. That has also had an impact on our children, making them feel less confident in themselves.”
