Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the founder and general overseer of Perez Chapel, to maintain national peace and unity.
He said without peace and tranquility, countries struggle to develop, and citizens become despondent.
In his view, political parties play a major role in maintaining peace, and as we move into the campaign activities toward the 2024 general elections, all parties must endeavor to maintain the peace of the country.
He [Agyinasare] declared, no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in, we can elect our leaders through the ballot and not the bullet.
He reiterated his call to the security forces to remain faithful to their oath of protecting this nation from all aggressors and not becoming the aggressors.
He was speaking at the national thanksgiving service of the NDC held at the Perez Chapel.
To the NDC, he said the party has a duty to protect Ghana’s democracy which was ushered in under their rule.
To the Electoral Commission, he asked them to do all in their power to reduce the tension using IPAC in their activities.
The IPAC, he stressed, has been beneficial in the past and should not be destroyed.
For the good of the nation, he advised the EC to work with all stakeholders and not divide them.
He said the operations of the EC should be transparent so winners would be encouraged by all and losers would be seen by all to have lost.
