The Management of Top Kings Enterprise Limited is accusing the Police of doing the bidding of a businessman and owner of Empire Builders.
The company, at a press conference, alleged that the business owner is using the Police to intimidate, harass and threaten occupants who are constructing projects on some parcels of land they own legitimately.
Mr. Benjamin Kwaku Danso, who spoke at the press conference, stated that the business owner had taken them to court and lost at every level, but he still threatens to destroy property and people who have legitimate access to the parcels of land in question.
“Top Kings was dragged into a protracted litigation by Empire Builders spanning 22 years from the High Court through to the Supreme Court, with Empire Builders losing at each stage of the litigation,” he revealed.

Not satisfied with the Supreme Court’s decision, Empire Builders Ltd filed a new action against Top Kings Enterprise in the High Courts of Adenta and Accra in 2021, alleging that Top Kings is taking land not covered by the 1998 to 2020 suit, which ended at the Supreme Court. The 2021 suits were also dismissed, and a subsequent appeal to the Court of Appeal met the same fate.”
He went on to say that the litigant has hired top law firms in Ghana and is allegedly seeking the president’s intervention in the matter.

”Throughout this lengthy dispute, Empire Builders Ltd has engaged all the topmost law firms in Ghana with 3 of the most prestigious law firms representing them at the High Court at the same time.
Empire Builders Ltd still has the financial clout to employ all the top lawyers in the country to seek legal redress in Court for the allegations made at the press conference.
Why is Empire Builders Ltd not engaging lawyers to bring action against Top Kings Enterprise but rather appealing to the President to intervene?
The obvious reason is that there is no merit in its claims and no court will entertain them any longer.
Land disputes are resolved at the Courts and not by press conferences or the intervention of the president.”

The Police have refused to intervene
He claimed that despite their repeated complaints to the police station about the destruction of their property, the police have refused to intervene.
The situation he complained about has had an impact on their operations, and all of the investors who expressed interest in investing in the land have left.
He said ”we do not also want to retaliate. We have restrained ourselves and appealed to our youth not to engage them in any form of violence. But this foreigner Ian Morris is intimidating us. We want it to stop.”
