The Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has rubbished the assertions that the immediate-past Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu was a sellout.

The legislator stated emphatically that Haruna Iddrisu has never been a sellout, as all3ehed by some members of his party.

He made the remarks on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, when parliament resumed recess.

He said Haruna Iddrisu had become part of him over the last six years.

”Haruna Iddrisu has become part of me for the past six years that we worked together. On occasions, there were allegations of a sellout. Mr. Speaker, let me use this occasion to state emphatically and unambiguously that no such thing ever happened.”

He said the two of them developed a harmonious relationship, and people read meanings into them.

”The business of the Minority Leader is to assist the Majority Leader in facilitating government work programme, and if the person does that, that should not be perceived as selling out through the Majority.”

He also eulogized James Klutse Avedzi, the former deputy Minority Leader commending him for his work for the Minority and Parliament.

He said Mr. Aceszi has helped build Parliament as an institution.

He wished the former Minority leaders well and wherever they would find themselves.

To the new leadership, he welcomed them and was optimistic they would work together to build parliament.
