The Police in Suame have detained Razak Kaumpa, the National Democratic Congress’ Suame Constituency Youth Organizer.
This was after being turned over by the party’s leadership.
The suspect, who is accused of inappropriate behaviour, is due to appear in court on Thursday.
Party supporters gathered at the Ashanti Regional Command on Wednesday before moving to the Suntreso District Command, where the suspect is currently being held.
In the viral video, the suspect is seen inciting NDC members to attack their NPP counterparts in the run-up to the 2024 general elections.
He allegedly stated that the NDC would resort to violence if necessary in order to win the 2024 elections.
