Perpetual Didier, a Ghanaian gospel musician, and Shadrach Arloo’s sister, has slammed the Ghana Police Service’s statement on its investigation.
Contrary to police claims, the musician claims that the pathologist’s autopsy was agreed upon with the family.
She has also denied that the police contacted her as part of their investigation.
According to her, the only time she met with the police was with the IGP, and it had nothing to do with an investigation but rather an assurance that the matter would be handled.
The Ghana Police Service has issued an update to Ghanaians on the investigation into Shadrach Arloo’s death.
According to witness statements obtained from private security guards and other individuals, the late Arloo resisted arrest.
According to the police, Arloo pulled something from his bag and swallowed it before anyone could stop him.
He went unconscious and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the police.
According to the police, the family was given the option of having an autopsy performed by a pathologist of their choice, but they agreed that the police should do it.
The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was asphyxiation and foreign body obstruction of the airway.
Eight zipped bags containing dry leaves suspected to be narcotics were found tied to black polythene.
According to the Police, the substances tested positive for cannabis when submitted for forensic examination.
But Perpetual Didier has refuted the claims insisting that the agreement was that the family would have another doctor in the presence of the pathologist of the Police.
She said the Police disagreed with the request of the family and rushed the process.
In a Facebook live video, the musician indicated that she suspects foul play in the autopsy conducted and the revelations by the Police Service.
She alleged that when they first saw the body of his late brother, he had bruises on his face, oozing from his mouth, nose, and other parts of the body.
“We are not children. That is why we requested an autopsy by a private doctor. You claimed he swallowed ‘wee’. Did he swallow the ‘wee’ with okro? Some claim to have consumed ‘wee’ despite never having consumed alcohol or smoked a cigarette. This is completely fabricated. We will settle these issues in court.” The police are lying. What are you hiding?”
