Residents of Pampamwie in the Oti Region are demanding a new school building since the one they currently have is a death trap and in a terrible situation.
Rainbow Radio’s Fiifi Ankomah reported from the scene that the school building has several cracks and could collapse at any time.
Residents, teachers, and pupils, he said, have complained about the school building, but nothing has been done about it.
The school’s headmaster (RA Basic School) has written letters and submitted pictures and videos about the condition of the school building on several occasions, but all to no avail.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that parents are worried that the building could collapse and harm their wards.
Aside from the deplorable nature of the building, the school lacks other teaching materials and desks for effective teaching and learning.
The residents have since appealed to corporate bodies, individuals, and Ghanaians who are abroad to support them in building a new school building.
