Residents of Pampawie in the Oti Region have bemoaned the shortage of anti-snake venom.
According to them, several persons have suffered snake bites, but the lack of anti-snake venom is hampering healthcare in the area.
The residents told Rainbow Radio’s Fiifi Ankomah that although treatment for snake bites in Ghana is free, a medical facility in the area has no anti-snake serum.
Traditional leaders, health workers, and residents have since urged authorities to help them.
Meanwhile, they have requested that the only clinic in the area be renovated.
According to them, the facility lacks basic items needed to function effectively, and it was the intervention of an individual Rev. Osabri who donated a polytank to the facility, tilted the building, and donated other items to help them work efficiently.
The man of God said the facility had no water system, and pregnant women and patients had to bring in their water.
Aside from that, the clinic did not have a toilet facility, and I was the one who constructed a toilet facility.
He revealed that he had plans to have the facility managed privately, but he was not given the needed attention.
