The wife and children of the late Christian Atsu would be present for the final funeral rites of the late footballer.
This was revealed by the family’s head, Nene G.K Tswasam, during an interview on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline.
The remains of former Ghana international footballer Christian Atsu, who died in a devastating earthquake in Turkey, were being flown home on Sunday.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia led a government delegation o to receive the body at the Kotoka International Airport.
The wife and children were, however, not present.
But the family head says the wife and children would be present for the final funeral rites.
He said the burial ceremony of the late Atsu has become a state matter, and the state would be involved in the rites.
He disclosed that Ghanaians would be at the end of the week to get the details for his burial.
He said the family has a solid relationship with the wife and ”I can tell you that the wife and the children would come to Ghana for the funeral ceremony”.
