The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results for the 2022 West African Senior Secondary Examination for private candidates.
The results for the second series had 43,742 candidates enter, with 20,164 females and 23,578 males.
Secenty-six of the candidates were visually impaired, whereas two had hearing impairment, WAEC said.
The results of 901 candidates alleged to have been involved in various cases of examination malpractices had their results withheld.
The malpractices include bringing foreign materials and mobile phones to the examination hall, impersonation, collusion, seeking external assistance, and others, the statement from WAEC said.
WAEC said the withheld results would be released or cancelled based on the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
It cautioned the public to be cautious of people who propose to upgrade their results for them.
The performance of the four core subjects showed that 17,042, 15, 183, 13, 036, and 11,590 candidates scored grades A1-C6 for Social Studies, English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, respectively.
1,619, 3,946, 10,554, and 4,100 scored F9 in Social Studies, English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, respectively.
