Prof. Harold Abubakar Markinson has slammed the media and academics for assisting some politicians in distorting Ghana’s history.
The historian, who is over 75 years old, believes that if it weren’t for our distorted history, no one would deny that the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is and will remain the founder of this independent country.
”I blame us in the academia and the media because the real historical antecedent has been distorted. It is 66 years, and Ghanaians are still asking themselves who is the founder of Ghana. This is not necessary. There is no other founder than the Great Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. No two ways about that,” he declared.
He has therefore underscored the need for Ghana to have its history right and to reflect the true history leading to our independence.
He made the remarks on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM while speaking in an interview with host Kwabena Agyapong.
