The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman Ernest Norgbey has condemned what he described as an invasion by the military following the death of a 22-year-old soldier in the area.
The MP said the death of the soldier was unfortunate.
However, the attacks on the residents, he noted, were unlawful.
He called on the Police to investigate and bring to book those who attacked and allegedly killed the soldier.
But the MP was against the invasion of the military in the community.
”What I am against is the invasion of the community by the military tormenting and molesting innocent residents. People who might have not known anything about the killing and the story. It is unlawful. You cannot do that. You cannot act like that. Two wrongs do not make a right.”
He described Asgaiman as a volatile area and questioned what the military seeks to achieve with their invasion.
”A military man and so what? You just don’t enter the community, begin to beat people, molest people and make them drink unnecessary water. It is just uncalled for. I am calling in the military high command; the fact is that the military high command is aware of what is happening. You can’t do that”.
