A Salaga-bound bus driver has been killed between Atebubu and Amantin in the Bono East Region.
Sheriff Jamal, who was in his early thirties, was stopped by the robbers and allegedly shot in the head.
According to reports, he died at the scene.
When the incident occurred, Sherrif had left Kumasi around 11 p.m. on Friday night with passengers hoping to arrive in Yeji before dawn to cross to Salaga.
Passengers in the commercial vehicles, as well as three other vehicles travelling in the same direction, were robbed.
Sheriff was a commercial driver in his spare time, and he also works for the National Ambulance Service, according to sources.
He has since been buried according to Islamic customs.
