General Overseer of the Hezekiah Prayer Ministry, Apostle Kwabena Owusu Adjei, has opined that Johnson Asiedu Nkeriah, the National Chairman, is not fit to deliver the party’s ‘true state of the nation address’.
The National Democratic Congress has scheduled the “true state of the nation address” for Monday, March 20, 2023.
Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party’s chairman, is expected to address the press at 2 p.m. at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA).
The NDC’s “true state of the nation address” follows President Nana Akufo-State Addo’s of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament.
Among the other issues to be addressed in the speech are the economy, spending cuts, a gold-for-oil deal, and steps taken to secure a $3 billion bailout from the International Monetary Fund.
But the Apostle has opined that Johnson Asiedu Nketiah lacks credibility, integrity and good character to deliver the ‘true state of the nation address’.
Asjedu Nketiah, in his opinion, is not a man who speaks the truth.
He told Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline that Asiedu Nketiah is a political liar.
He recalled an incident at the late Prof. Mills’ party and admitted that the one-time premium health insurance they promised was not feasible, as Fiifi Kwetey had informed him.
However, Asiedu Nketiah went public to lie to Ghanaians about the promise being fulfilled three months after the late Mills’ death.
“He continues to deceive us, and it is this deception that is destroying the NDC. But they have refused to listen. He should not be the one to lead the NDC in delivering the true state of the nation address. He lacks both integrity and credibility. I would have preferred someone other than Asiedu Nketiah to lead this exercise. His demeanour and track record indicates that he does not speak the truth.”
He insisted that if the NDC does not recycle itself, it will no longer be able to win elections in Ghana.
This, he added, was proposed by the party’s late founder, Jerry John Rawlings.
