The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District has expressed concern about the rising rate of adolescent pregnancy in the area.

In her address to the Chiefs and People of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, Mrs. Florence Adjei, the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Public Health Nurse, stated that those responsible for Teenage Pregnancies are drivers and Pragya riders.
“Most of the children who engaged in premarital sex and, by extension, teenage pregnancy are between the ages of twelve and fourteen and are primarily in Upper Primary in various Basic Schools throughout the Central Region. In the Central Region, Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District leads the increase in Teenage Pregnancy in 2022.”
