Political analyst Michael Eno Amoah has described the late Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei as one of Ghana’s finest politicians and economists.
He stated on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline that the death of the former Old Tafo MP was shocking.
“I beseech God to grant him eternal rest. He was one of the finest people appointed by former President Kufour and helped him succeed, particularly when Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, the then Finance Minister, died.'[‘
According to him, the news would be devastating for the former president because of their relationship and Dr. Akoto Osei’s contributions to his administration.
“Death is unavoidable, and when the time comes, God wills you to eternal rest. I pray for the bereaved family and ask God to comfort them,” he added.
The former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ashanti Region’s Old Tafo Constituency has died.
According to reports, the former MP died on Monday, March 20.
He died at the age of 64.
The former Minister of State for Finance during President Kufuor’s regime is said to have been ill for some time.
Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei was a late Ghanaian banker and politician.
Dr. Osei served in Parliament for five terms.
In 1987, he received his PhD from Howard University.
