Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu says President Akufo-Addo’s newly appointed Ministers will be approved even without the Minority’s cooperation.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the lawmaker declared ”we can approve the nominees without the cooperation of the Minority. We will vote on the matter, and the Majority will carry the day,” he added.
He stated that the Majority side had requested a vote on the matter after the debate on Thursday, but the Speaker pushed the vote to Friday, March 24, 2023.
Meanwhile, details emerging from Parliament indicate that the debate on the approval of the new ministerial nominees is in a stalemate.
This website has gathered that discussions at a closed-door meeting between the leadership of both sides of the House had not resolved the issue yet.
The Minority has demanded that President Akufo-Addo cut down on the size of his administration to reflect the current economic crisis.
The National Democratic Congress has also directed the Minority to vote against the new appointees or face sanctions from the party.
