The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has informed the general public that gas supply for power generation has been disrupted due to maintenance work being carried out at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) (GPP).
According to an ECG statement, some power plants will be affected for the next two weeks.
This, according to the ECG, will result in some power outages across the country.
In a statement, the Energy Ministry promised that measures are in place to procure additional petrol from Nigeria to deal with the impending negative effects.
In a separate statement, the Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo) stated that there will be only a minor interruption in power supply to some ECG customers.
