A 35-year-old man died while attempting to save a goat from drowning in a well in the Bono East Region’s Atebubu region.
Yaw Owusu, a farmer, has been identified as the deceased.
According to the information provided, the farmer and another friend were on their way to his farming labour when he was instructed by a neighbour to save her drowning goat.
The deceased had agreed to accept Ghc100, but the goat’s owner negotiated and agreed to accept Ghc70.
Yaw Owusu allegedly dove into the well but was discovered after two minutes.
The Ghana Fire Service recovered his body from the well and handed it over to police officers from the district station after villagers informed them of the incident.
According to reports, the goat was also discovered dead.
According to the extent of damage evident on Yaw Owusu’s skull during the rescue, he may have smashed his head in the well.
It took three people to descend into the well with a ladder to find his body.
