Former President John Dramani Mahama has promised to create a conducive environment under his tenure as the next president for anti-corruption institutions to deal with corrupt officials.
The aspiring presidential candidate in the upcoming presidential primaries noted that appointees of the government would be discouraged from engaging in corrupt practices under the new NDC government.
He made the remarks while speaking to delegates in Lambussie, Upper West Region.
Mr. Mahama reiterated that corrupt individuals, regardless of party affiliation, will face punishment during the next NDC administration.
“It makes no difference whether you belong to our government or previous governments; if you steal the money of the people, we will deal with you.” If elected President, I will make anti-corruption institutions operational. Nobody should come running to me when they catch you. If the anti-corruption institutions are dealing with you, whether you are in my government, outside my government, or in the previous NPP government, that is your business because we must save this country,” Mahama stated.
