Political analyst Michael Ebo Amoah has questioned why Dr. Kwabena Duffour and Kojo Bonsu are now raising issues about the register to be used for the parliamentary and presidential primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The analyst and communications lecturer posited that the two aspirants had the opportunity to raise and have their issues addressed but waited till the last hour to voice out.
He referenced a similar incident where Paul Afoko and some others in the NPP headed to court over a similar matter and lost.
He explained that “for every political party, there are internal processes to follow and my question to them is have they followed all the internal processes to have their concerns addressed before heading to the court?
The concern I have is why did the two not call for the register to examine it a month ago and have waited till the last hour to drag the party to court and frustrate the processes. The party had spent several amounts of money and the suit filed in the court could affect the process. I would have preferred that they would have used the internal process in the party although it is their democratic right to head to the court.
He advised the former minister not to allow the party to describe him as ungrateful and on a mission to destroy the NDC with the support of others.
To him, the act by Dr. Duffour is painting the NPP in a negative light and that could affect the fortunes of his some, Dr. Kwabena Duffour Jnr., who is also contesting in the parliamentary primaries.
Meanwhile, he has described the suit filed by Dr. Kwabena Duffour as unprecedented in terms of the presidential primary.
He said at the executive elections and internal primaries, level we have witnessed several individuals heading to court to injunct the process for months.
To him, politicians suffer from selective amnesia and so choose when to ridicule their opponents on issues like this.
