The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is holding presidential and parliamentary primaries today, Saturday, May 13, 2023.
The party will choose a presidential candidate and parliamentary candidates to represent it in the 2024 general election.
Following the departure of Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, former President John Dramani Mahama is fighting the presidential election with former Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu.
Elections are planned to be held in 274 constituencies across the country, with elections in the Manhyia South constituency now on hold.
According to the NDC, approximately 366, 000 delegates are anticipated to vote, with 739 parliamentary contenders taking part.
In Saturday’s election, 47 parliamentary candidates are anticipated to run unopposed.
