Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has been re-elected as the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate.
Muntaka competed against Masawudu Mubarick.
Muntaka received 1,063 of the total valid votes cast, while his major opponent, Masawudu Mubarick, received 735 votes.
After torrential rains in the region forced voting, sorting, and counting into the night, the primary in the constituency had to be suspended for a time.
