An eight-year-old boy died after drinking a substance suspected to be palm wine in Awutu Bantama, Awutu Senya West District, Central Region.
Agya Kwao, the boy, died after drinking the substance from the farm of a palm wine tapper.
According to details emerging, the tapper allegedly poisoned the substance after suspecting that someone was stealing from him.
Mercy Acquah, the deceased’s auntie, claims she saw the boy screaming for help and was rushed to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead a few hours later.
The suspect has been arrested as part of the investigation by the Awutu Bereku Police Command.
