President Akufo-Addo has officially announced that the Covid-19 outbreak has passed.
He noted that just as the World Health Organization recently announced, COVID-19 no longer represents a global health emergency.
“This too has passed,” he told Ghanaians adding that “the emergency is over and we can safely lift any of those oppressive restrictions we have had to endure.”
He made the remarks in his final update to Ghanaians on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo further lamented that the free vaccines to tackle the virus, inoculating the people was very expensive.
“Vaccination was expensive,” he said further adding that “fumigation and cleansing of markets, schools and other public places cost a lot of money.”
Ghana does not have any critical cases at the moment, he said.
“Currently we do not have any critical case,” he said.
