The Assin North seat by-election will be held on June 27, 2023, according to the Electoral Commission (EC).
The EC declared in a statement that the by-election was necessary as a result of the Supreme Court’s order to Parliament to proclaim the seat empty and delete the name of James Gyakye Quayson since the manner by which he was elected was unlawful.
The electoral body stated that it would accept nominations from interested parties at its Assin North office from June 12 to 14, 2023.
From June 1, 2023, interested candidates can download nomination forms from the EC’s official website.
Candidates can submit the forms personally or select someone to do so on their behalf, according to the EC.
The EC said that the filing fee is Ghc10,000 per candidate.
