Residents on the Sefwi Bekwai Ankwaso Diaso route, including commercial drivers, traders, and others, have called for better roadways.
The residents who are upset say the state of their roadways is appalling and a threat to human life, their businesses, and their livelihood.
As a result, they want the road network connecting Sefwi Bekwai Ankwaso and Diaso to be repaired.
Residents also stated that the poor condition of the roads had resulted in the deaths of several pregnant women on their way to healthcare.
Some women were alleged to have miscarried while on the route.
The drivers, for their part, complained that they had difficulty using the road and that they do not go a day without visiting a mechanic to repair damage to their vehicles.
To address these concerns, some of them demand a higher rate than usual to cover the cost of restoring their damaged vehicles.
One of the drivers described how a pregnant woman had to get off a motorbike that was bringing her to the hospital because she could no longer endure the pain.
The intervention of another driver in a private car was required to carry the woman to the hospital.
