The Assin North New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared that the elephant would win the June 27 by-election.
Benjamin Esaah, the constituency chairman, remarked that the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s promise that it will maintain the seat with Gyakye Quayson is wishful thinking.
According to him, based on their study and foundation, the NPP will win the process.
“The NPP has already won the by-election.” The NDC does not frighten us. As a democratic party, we have enabled all qualified candidates to run to select a candidate to represent us. We will win the seat with any candidate we choose. People usually allude to the previous election, yet President Akufo-Addo defeated Mahama by over 1,000 votes. The NDC won the parliamentary election with a small number of votes. People voted skirt and use, but they have vowed to vote massively for the NPP in the by-election, so we are hopeful of victory.”
Meanwhile, he had denied reports that the government had hurried to the area to repair deteriorating roads as a result of the by-election.
The chairman stated that the ongoing projects are extensions of projects that have already been awarded for construction.
He stated that these initiatives were launched in 2020, therefore the claim that they were started to buy votes for the by-election is untrue. Even when a family member dies, we take steps to paint our homes and clean them. So, if current projects have been accelerated as a result of the by-election, we should be pleased and applaud the government.”
“As for the seat, we’ve already won it,” he emphasised. There is some disagreement over this. We will win the by-election, and the NPP candidate will be sworn in as the elected MP for the area,” he said in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 97.5Fm with those, Kwabena Agyapong.
