A group of ‘Ghetto Boys’ allegedly assaulted two police officers at Gomoa Nyanayano in the Gomoa East District.
The alleged ‘Ghetto Boys’ attacked officers who were on the scene to arrest some suspects.
Residents and traditional leaders in the area have expressed shock and described the resident’s death as unfortunate.
According to eyewitnesses, the officers had to call for reinforcements before escaping through the teeth.
The officers had arrested and handcuffed four suspects and were about to transport them to the station when a group of young men pounced on them.
The arrested suspects are said to have escaped with the handcuffs due to the circumstances.
According to eyewitnesses, when the re-enforcement ghetto Youth arrived on the scene, one of them slapped one of the police officers twice before stoning them.
In an interview with the press, the Zongo Chief of Gomoa Nyanayano, Sariki Awudu Issaka Giwa, condemned the act of the ‘Ghetto boys’ and believes that they are not from Gomoa Nyanayano.
