Prof Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, a former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, believes the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is in disarray.
He stated that the party is in a different state than it was previously.
The renowned heart surgeon expressed dissatisfaction with the current situation of the elephant family, for which he once ran as a presidential candidate.
In his opinion, despite his party’s reputation for good governance when given the opportunity, things are not going well in all sections of the country.
“Look at the state of everything. The economy; look at industries, banking, agriculture, education, mining, pollution, the environment and so on. Look at all these things and this party is supposed to be the one carrying the burden, forming the government and carrying the burden. But if you still have these problems then you cannot say that we are happy with the state of the party.”
He made the remarks in an interview on Joy News on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
Prof. Frimpong-Boateng refuted claims that the administration has been victimised by issues such as the Covid-19 outbreak.
He argued that numerous people who have been appointed to government positions lack the necessary skills to address difficult challenges.
He said yes when asked if he could solve complex problems.
When asked if he failed to fix the galamsey problem, he replied that he had not, but that individuals who should have known better did not do so.
He stated that the crisis is still ongoing, with individuals dredging on bodies of water and damaging our forest reserves.
