The Assin North parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) in the Central region has stated that Ghana’s two-party system is gradually stifling development progress.
The candidate stated that the two-party system had stifled development in Assin North for many years, indicating that it is a significant concern for the LPG, hence her candidature in the upcoming by-election.
She disclosed that the party has many developmental plans for the Assin North constituents, which she believes will win souls for the party in the upcoming by-election scheduled for June 27, 2023.
She emphasised that one of the major challenges confronting the youth in the area is unemployment, and it forms part of the initiatives the LPG will embark on to address the unemployment rate.
She said that the Liberal Party of Ghana will assist the youth in Assin North with lucrative businesses and entrepreneurial skills that will improve their living conditions.
She bemoaned how the youth flee to other communities for greener pastures due to a lack of jobs in Assin North and its enclaves, ”so providing them with capital and other resources will provide them with the necessary knowledge on various aspects of work to make life better for them and compel them to stay in the community for the development of Assin North and its environs”, sh added.
”We require a change in governance. The two parties that have ruled Ghana for years, the NDC and the NPP, have failed to provide the people with the economic transformation that they deserve. As Ghanaians, it is our responsibility to change this and allow LPG to serve. We have the men to better manage this country. We have better policies in place to help reduce unemployment, particularly in Assin North,” she declared.
The aspirant was hopeful she would win the by-election come June 27, 2023.
She appealed to the voting constituents to vote massively for her in the by-election and ignore the NPP and NDC since they had nothing more to offer but deception and poor leadership.
”Neither the NDC nor the NPP have anything else to offer. They deserve to be evicted. That is why I am urging you to cast a large number of votes in favour of the LPG. Vote for me and the LPG because we have what it takes to provide better leadership, more job opportunities, and good governance.”
