A 22-year-old Mobile Money Merchant is said to have committed suicide at Assin Kruwa in the Central Region’s Assin South District.
Rainbowradioonline.com learned that the merchant, Abdul Rahman Acquah, has been missing since June 8, 2023.
In an interview with the media, the deceased’s uncle, Mr. Kwaku Quansah, who also serves as the town’s Abusuapanin, stated that the community members performed a comprehensive search, but all attempts were futile.
The search continued on June 9, 2023.
Personnel from the Kakum National Park’s Wildlife Division, stationed at Assin Kruwa Camp with the bereaved family and some community members, continued the search and later discovered the merchant hanging from a tree.
He had allegedly committed suicide with a copper wiring cable.
When the police at Nyankumasi Ahenkuro received the report, they promptly went to the spot to transport the body to the Abura Dunkwa District Hospital Mortuary for preservation and postmortem after examinations revealed no traces of violence.
Investigations are currently underway to establish the true cause of death but some have attributed the incident to frustration.
The deceased had previously threatened to commit suicide over a missing Gh3,500.00 belonging to his business owner.
The merchant had told individuals that the business owner was on his tail, demanding the money that had gone missing.
