The Constituency Chairmen of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region have elected new leaders.
The newly elected leaders are expected to lead caucus activities for the next four years.
On June 15, 2023, the election took place at the Best Western Plus Hotel.
Benjamin Danso, constituency chairman of Krowor, was elected chairman of the Association, while Harry Otu Hesse, constituency chairman of Ayawaso Central, was elected vice chairman.
Other members of the caucus include Okaikoi North constituency chairman Gregory Quarshie, who was elected Secretary, Okaikoi South constituency chairman Yussif Saeed, who was elected Convener, and Ayawaso East constituency chairman Mohammed Ramne (Alabi), who was elected Deputy Convener.
Isaac Kportsu, the constituency chairman of Shai Osudoku, was also elected treasurer of the Association.
Former Okaikoi North constituency chairman Fiifi Taylor and William Olabode, the Association’s outgoing executives, officially handed over to the new executives and charged them with working towards the caucus’s goal.
The meeting provided an opportunity for constituency chairmen to explore various strategies for ensuring the victory of the National Democratic Congress’s Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, in the 2024 General Election.
They also discussed methods to grab more parliamentary seats in the Greater Accra Region.
The meeting was attended by 24 constituency chairmen, out of a total of 33 NDC chairmen in the Greater Accra Region.
In addition, some past constituency chairman and outgoing executives were there to witness the swearing-in of the Association’s new executives.
