Residents of the Abura Asebu Ekroful community have petitioned the government to build motorable roads, a health centre, and a public toilet.
According to the residents, these are the major challenges they face, and the government must assist them.
Speaking to the media, the Ebusuapanyin and community overseer stated that during the rainy season, market women and men selling in various towns find it difficult to return home when it rains.
He then appealed to the government not to wait for something bad to happen before dealing with their problems.
”I am appealing to those who are responsible for dealing with these challenges,” he said. We want our daily slice of the national cake. We want motorable roads and access to a health facility. Our roads’ poor condition has cost us opportunities. When it rains, our residents are unable to return home from wherever they are. That is why I am pleading with authorities to address our concerns.”
Mr. Anthony Effinah, Committee Chairman of Abura Asebu Ekroful, added that their MP for Abura Asebu Kwamankese, Mr. Elvis Morris Donkoh, is not assisting them at all.
He claimed to have met with the MP and requested that their bad road be repaired, but the lawmaker allegedly told him that what they needed was a clinic, not a road.
He stated that the community is the hub that connects Wiamoah, Amosima, Eguase, and other communities in Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency, but due to a poor road network, residents are unable to transport their produce to other communities to sell.
