The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has promised to make James Gyakye Quayson a minister if he is elected President in 2024.
The former president gave the assurance to Assiniboine North constituents over the weekend, ahead of the area’s by-election on Tuesday, June 27.
”If I am elected President of Ghana by the grace of God, I will appoint Ministers, and Gyakye Quayson is qualified to be appointed as a Minister. Your problems in Assin North would be over if he is appointed Minister,” he said.
Mr Mahama continued, “Those who have dug a ditch in the hope that Gyakye Quayson will fall into it are the ones who will fall into their own ditch.”
He stated that the opposition candidate has undertaken several initiatives, making him someone the constituents can rely on if his government is elected.
”He is using his own resources to launch several initiatives, so imagine what he will do if his government is in power.”
