Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasised the importance of running a clean campaign free of insults, acrimony, and personal attacks.
In a meeting with some delegates, the aspiring presidential candidate stated that the presidential primary is an internal one and that the party, aspirants, and supporters must follow the rules.
According to him, the NPP’s main adversary is the NDC, and ”while we are campaigning, we should refrain from insulting each other. We want peace, as well as a clean campaign and election”.
”We don’t have to insult each other because, after the internal process, we want to be united and take on the NDC,” Dr. Bawmia continued.
I would like to advise my supporters and spokespersons to refrain from insulting others. We want a clean campaign and a clean election. We are one big family. Let us remain united so that, after the process, we can ensure that the NDC does not retake power. That is critical. Let us keep the NPP in power. We want MPP unity. That is what will help us break the 8-year jinx.”
