Jaman South MCE Andrews Bediako has been accused of leading a group of machomen to the studios of Jaman radio station to attack a morning show host, Otaferegya.
The MCE reportedly took the machomen to the station and allegedly attacked the host over a story they had treated.
Narrating his ordeal on the Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, the host disclosed that he was in the studio working on a story involving the MCE.
He alleged that although the MCE did not personally attack him, his boys went on a rampage and assaulted him and other workers at the station.
In relation to the story, he stated that the MCE had begun reshaping some roads in the municipality.
He stated that the MCE admitted that the fueling of the reshaping equipment was paid for by some individuals and fuel stations in the area.
However, according to a document in circulation, some contractors claim to have worked on the projects and deserve to be paid. As a result, when we learned about the problem, we wondered why contractors would demand payment for projects that did not cost the municipality anything. While we were discussing the story, I suggested that we speak with the MCE and urban roads. They walked into the studio a few moments later, and while the audio was playing, one of his boys told me to play the entire tape. ”I wondered why he would come to the studio and instruct me on what to do.”
According to him, the team had not invited the MCE into the studio, but due to their respect for him, they were unable to walk him out.
However, some of his boys began misbehaving and fighting in the studio and were escorted out.
He also claimed that the MCE made insufficient efforts to prevent the macho men from doing what they were doing.
He accused Nana Boateng of assault and causing damage to his phone.
According to the MCE, there was an attempt by the radio host, led by his boss, to tarnish his [MCE’s] image.
He explained that the journalist and his paymasters were attempting to publish false stories about him.
He claimed that the journalist was once balanced and fair but has since changed.
The MCE stated that he had declared his intention to run in the NPP parliamentary primaries and that efforts were being made to smear his image in order to make way for the journalist’s nephew, who has also declared his interest.
He admitted that the reshaping was done with the help of some filling stations and that he had repeatedly alluded to these issues, so it was nothing new.
The MCE also stated that the project equipment was damaged, so he [the MCE] lobbied through urban roads, and they received their allocation for the projects.
He went on to say that the Finance Ministry is in charge of the projects and their financial issues.
