One suspected killer narrowly escaped death after being apprehended with an accomplice for allegedly killing a physically challenged woman.
An outraged crowd lynched and set the two men on fire.
The police arrived shortly and transported the two to the hospital.
However, one of them died while the other was in the hospital.
The deceased was one of three people accused of murdering and removing vital parts of a physically challenged woman’s body.
The incident occurred today, Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Assin Bereku, Assin North District, Central Region.
Meanwhile, the third suspect, Abochie, 27, is on the run.
Nana Adu Pako, reporting from the scene, informed Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the suspects removed the eyes of the woman identified as Auntie Efia.
He reported that they even attempted to remove other portions of the body, including the teeth.
According to the reporter, the mob was drawn to the woman’s screams.
They [suspects] tried to flee, he said, but two were caught and beaten.
This makes a total of three victims who were killed and had parts of their bodies removed, he added.
