President Akufo-Addo has stated that Ghana will miss the late renowned Ghanaian author Ama Ata Aidoo.
He paid tribute to the late writer at her funeral today, Thursday, July 13, 2023.
The ceremony took place on the forecourt of Accra’s State House.
President Akufo-Addo praised Ama Ata Aidoo’s unrivalled talent, describing her as a literary icon whose words touched readers all over the world.
According to him, the later author’s groundbreaking works demonstrated her ability to weave captivating narratives that explored complex social issues.
Ama Atta Aidoo’s works, he said, went beyond the pages of her books, as she used her voice and pen to advocate for social justice, women’s empowerment, and African identity.
President Akufo-Addo also paid tribute to the late Author for her enormous contribution to Ghana’s and the African continent’s development.
Ama Ata Aidoo will be missed not only for her literary brilliance, but also for her indomitable spirit and unwavering commitment to advancing African literature and culture, according to President Akufo-Addo.
