Kwabena Mintah Akando, the Juaboso MP, was engaged in a near-fatal car accident in Nyinahin, Ashanti.
The lawmaker was returning from his constituency when his government car collided with an oncoming Kumasi-Sefwi Yiawso bound Sprinter bus on the outskirts of Atwima Mponua township.
The accident happened about 18:05 on Saturday, when the MP’s driver attempted to overtake a vehicle ahead of him and broke a tyre on the passenger side of the front side.
It swerved into the path of an oncoming bus before crashing with it.
The NDC MP’s vehicle, with registration GN 441-14, and the Sprinter, with registration AS 7363-18, were both mangled in the crash.
According to the information available, some passengers on the bus were injured.
The injured were transported to the Nyinahin Government Hospital for treatment.
Ambulance, police, and National Fire Service personnel were on the site to assist.
Mr Akandoh, his driver, and his security detail have been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
