A gang of four people has been arrested for allegedly stealing valuables from their victims.
The four were apprehended in Saltpond, Mfantseman Municipality, Central Region.
According to reports, the four were two males and two females in a taxi car with the registration number GC-6020-2.
The suspects who moved from Winneba to Cape Coast snatched their victims’ valuables and sped away, as was their custom.
Their victims were mostly passengers looking for commercial buses or other modes of transportation to their destinations.
According to some eyewitnesses, this went on for three days until they were apprehended.
Others alleged that the four have also robbed people and taken an undisclosed amount of money.
On the day of their arrest, the suspects allegedly snatched a victim’s bag as they approached Saltpond.
Some taxi drivers pursued them until they were apprehended.
The men have been identified as Kojo Owusu and Kwame Bempong, while the names of the women are unknown.
The police also seized substances suspected to be Indian hemp from them.
The incident happened on July 31, 2023.
